  • The Events Director is the producer of all functions that are commissioned by the Board of Directors for community entertainment and learning. In conjunction with the Director of Development, they execute club fundraising initiatives.

    The primary function of this position is to organize and oversee the efficient and smooth operation of events promoted by VGCC. These include community events such as the Santa Breakfast or Skate event and Family Fun Day; fundraising events such as Bingo or Trivia Night; Sport tournaments; and other events as decided by the Board.

  • The Development Director is responsible to develop and produce fundraising initiatives to achieve sustainable income growth. This person will develop partnerships and supporter relationships which enhance VGCC’s reputation within the catchment and beyond and will look for opportunities to generate donations in-kind and improve understanding of the impact financial support can provide to our community club.  This director will also be responsible for research and applying for grants and loans.

  • Sport Conveners oversee the individual sport program they have chosen to volunteer for.

    The sport convener is responsible to promote their sport to the community.  They connect the league, coaches, parents, and Valley Gardens CC board.

    We are currently in need of conveners for the following sports that we already host at Valley Gardens.

    Baseball (Hardball)

    Soccer

    Basketball

  • Under the direction of the Events Director or reporting directly to the Board of Directors, we welcome individual-event committees to be formed by local community members.

    VGCC is only able to offer events and activities to the extent that we have community volunteers ready to make these events successful.

  • This position requires previous experience as an executive member of a volunteer organization Board of Directors.

    Duties include overseeing the administration and securities of the centre. The treasurer works with the General Manager and the executive members of the Board of Directors to ensure appropriate use of funds. The treasurer prepares and monitors the annual budget.

    The treasurer attends executive and monthly board meetings as well as events in support of the Community Centre.

    Previous experience with bookkeeping and/or asset management is a benefit. Financial reporting, communication and management skills, budgeting, and attention to detail are all necessary skills.
